The Bones of Queen Red Beach.

Next on the list of tables to build in preparation for our Normandy event is a lovely little section of Sword Beach. This is just a quick look at the starting steps of our Queen Red Beach board, and a few notes on how we do it.

Preparing the surface of the board for some texture. Big brushes are your best friend here.

50/50 mix of water and glue. Half of a water bottle makes for a fantastic mixing pot.
The big ol' pile of texture, We keep a bucket of play sand around for exactly this sort of work.
After each section has been painted with our watered glue, we cover it liberally with our texture sand.
Now we let it dry over night.
