Operation Overlord 2014 Information

At 12:01 am June 6th, 2014 dice will start rolling at Outpost Gaming in Kenosha, WI. They won't stop rolling until at least 72 hours have passed, resulting in a new Guinness World Record.

It's the 70th anniversary of D-Day. As such, we plan to primarily play Flames of War, focusing on the events of Operation Overlord (covered by Overlord and Atlantik Wall). Anyone is welcome to join for as little or as long as they wish.

Flames of War isn't the only game welcome - space will be provided for whatever other games people want to play. Bring your favorite game, or play one from our library.

This post will be continually updated with information about the event.

Battlefront's new plastic Mark IV's!

We're taking a look at a part of Battlefront's new plastic range today, GBX79, the plastic Panzer IV H platoon. I've always loved the Panzer IV. Everyone knows and loves the big cats, but my heart has always belonged to this little workhorse.

The Bones of Queen Red Beach.

Next on the list of tables to build in preparation for our Normandy event is a lovely little section of Sword Beach. This is just a quick look at the starting steps of our Queen Red Beach board, and a few notes on how we do it.

New Battle Badger Beach Toys!

We're getting ready to storm the beaches here at Outpost Gaming. Here's the day's take!

We found a local store that still had (and still has actually) a BUNCH of dice tins! So we quickly snapped up everything relevant to our Normandy centric interests. Also pictured are Rick's new 29th Infantry Boat Sections, a few sorted Ranger platoons for Pointe Du Hoc, some DUKW's, a box of LCVP's, and a special order box of LCM. I didn't make it to the shop in time to get pictures of the whole pile before the lads started cleaning and sorting the blisters, but the stack of bases do a fine job of pointing out how many little soldiers we've got to power through in the near future. Wish us luck!

Here's another look at the current progress of one of these beautiful Outpost Gaming Tables, Pointe du Hoc! Once again, this has been taken directly from Battlefront's Normandy Battles Book! If you want to play on these beauties get a hold of Ken at Outpost Gaming, or any one of the Battle Badgers.

Outpost Gaming's Operation Overlord 2014

Ken at Outpost Gaming in Kenosha, Wisconsin approached us recently with a very ambitious idea. Ken's looking to celebrate the 70th anniversary of D-Day by setting a world record playing Flames of War for an entire weekend, and he'd like the Battle Badgers help in doing it.

We're very excited about this event, and have all sorts of work to do to get ready. We've got tables to build, armies to buy, build, and paint, and lots of new friends to make. We're really looking to pack the house with this one, so let us know if you're interested in attending! Keep an eye on our blog, and the Flames of War site for more details.

Flames of War Ranger Demos and Normandy Display at Adepticon

The Battle Badgers will be at Adepticon on the afternoons of Friday and Saturday April 4th and 5th. We'll be demoing Flames of War for anyone looking to learn. We'll also have one of the boards from our upcoming Normandy Event on loan from our good friends at Outpost Gaming. We've not yet decided which table is coming along, so if you have an opinion let us hear it.

Flames of War Ranger Demos at Midwest Gaming Classic

The folks at the Midwest Gaming Classic have decided to take a step outside of their traditional world of arcade cabinets, computers, and consoles, and a step into the wonderful world of tabletops, dice, and little army men. The Battle Badgers have agreed to be part of this step on Saturday, April 12th.

Come join us at the Sheraton  at 375 South Moorland Road, in Brookfield, Wisconsin.. Further details are available on their site here.
